Our 164 members (39 of them joining in 2008) have a busy season at Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club. Every member is encouraged to enter the many competitions, and enjoy the social side of the game. Lawn Bowling is a sport of skill and strategy and we offer excellent (free) coaching and mentoring from knowledgeable members, and even loan of bowls.
We welcome
both novice and experienced bowlers.

We play mornings, afternoons, evenings, on weekdays and weekends - there will usually be a game time for you! So if you want to see if the grass is greener on our side of the fence, participate in a low-cost outdoor activity for all ages, perhaps improve or maintain physical fitness and mental focus - Then COME and JOIN US FOR FUN and EXERCISE.
- Canadian Blind Sports National Championships and BC Blind Sports Provincial Championships are now over. Results are here and Nanaimo did very well.
- It was a BUSY Labour Day weekend! Results and pics of the Canaccord Trophy for Mixed Pairs Open Tournament in Nanaimo (August 30/31) PLUS the Alan White Mixed Triples Club Tournament (Sept 1) PLUS the Bert Nelson Bowlspiel (Aug 30-Sept 1) held in Victoria are all here.
- The Club Scotch Pairs Tournaments - semi-final results are now here
- The Club's Novice Singles winners (Sandra Metcalfe and Richard Teneycke) are in Parksville to compete against other novice champs this weekend - Sept 6 and 7. And Club Singles winners Rick Quibell, Mary Roughton and Keith McMann are there for their competition, too.
- The Monday fun weekly draws will continue at 1300 on Sept 8, 15 and 22 - ALL welcome.
- Paul Roughton's message for all Club members can be read here . The Club will need a lot of help at the end of September and beginning of October - please consider giving your time.
- What are you planning on doing this winter? How about joining us for... SHORT MAT!!! Yes, it's back! Short mat bowling will be available again this winter, starting October 6th, 2008 . Click here for details or go to the Short Mat page.
